Call for Nutrition Care Process Terminology Board of Editors
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is soliciting individuals to serve on the Nutrition Care Process Terminology (NCPT) Board of Editors (BOE). The main purpose of the BOE is the development and educational dissemination of the standardized care framework (the NCP model) and related terminology via the NCPT website.
The time commitment will vary and could require anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours each month.
General Role of the BOE:
- The BOE of the NCPT is the group of Registered Dietitians Nutritionists (RDN) that advises the Editor-In-Chief (EIC) about the accuracy of NCPT website content. The EIC serves as the chair of the BOE, appointing the members of the BOE for a 3-year renewable term.
- In conjunction with the product, the EIC and BOE is charged with publishing scientifically credible content that is relevant to the dietetics profession, to the members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy), subscribers, and to interested stakeholders (e.g., developers).
- Each aspect of the NCPT product has a BOE section, with an overarching EIC: Practice, Education, and Implementation.
- The newly appointed NCPT BOE members will take office June 1, 2026.
Responsibilities Include:
- Review, author and suggest content for NCPT resources (including the eNCPT website)
- Ensure positive website user experience.
- Develop resources to promote the implementation of the NCP/NCPT globally.
Required Experience:
- Advanced degree (masters, PhD) or 8 years of experience in lieu of an advanced degree
- RDN with minimum of 5 years of professional experience
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience related to at least one of the aspects of NCPT listed below
- Thorough understanding and use of NCPT
- Effective communication and relationship skills
- Knowledge of tenets of cultural competency and inclusive language - Learn more about the Academy’s IDEA work here
